....we want to express our thanks for the wonderful words of encouragement and practical help we received from the community after the fire in one room at the Women's Shelter this morning. Everyone is safe and back in the shelter after a brief evacuation.

A heartfelt thanks to the Ottawa Fire Department, City of Ottawa, Ottawa Police Department, Salvation Army, OC Transpo, the Red Cross and the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa.

image: square2  A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU

  • Thank you to everyone for supporting our Annual Fund Drive. The response has been heartwarming, resulting in $101,804.00 donated to help off-set the reduction in funding, and to ensure that every woman who comes to Cornerstone for help receives the services that she needs to rebuild her life.

image: square4  Update on Funding Cuts

  • We are now moving beyond the news of $212,000 loss in funding, and going forward with the knowledge that we are faced with making some difficult decisions as we navigate this time of transition. In spite of this challenge, we are dedicated to providing quality services for women experiencing homelessness, or moving beyond homelessness in Ottawa. We will continue to work with our community partners, and ensure that the women who come to us receive the assistance they need to rebuild their lives.

We also wish to thank those who have responded to our call for help. Your support means the world to us, and we appreciate every message of encouragement and every donation. Watch for information about our Annual Fund Drive as we strive to raise $100,000 to fill the gap left by the cuts and to help us through this difficult transition.
