Diocesan Refugee Working Group
Our diocese has a long-standing agreement with Citizenship and Immigration Canada to sponsor and help with the settlement of refugees from overseas. The Diocesan Refugee Working Group can advise parishes on how to go about this, including
- identifying a refugee or family,
- preparing for settlement,
- helping refugees on arrival and for the one year of sponsorship.
Most of these refugee families need financial support from their sponsors.
